ABOUT HILAIN HOME INSPECTIONS LTD.

Professional Inspectors..

The professionals at Hilain Home Inspections Ltd. have a combined total of over 25 years experience in Ontario's renovation and construction industries. This experience, combined with NACHI certification and mandatory training approved by CAHPI and OAHI, gives us the unique insight into the complexities of any house, old or new.

Understanding how a house works is crucial when it comes to examining it's systems and explaining their functions to a client. Our background and experience gives us an advantage when addressing deficiencies. We make sure any issues are clearly explained and understood before proceeding.

At Hilain, Our credo is..

There is no such thing as a dumb question.

Once the visual inspection is complete we will start the detailed written reporting system. This homeowner's guide is designed to list the current conditions found in the home or building and serves as a reference manual for years to come. This unique reporting system becomes the "Owners Manual" customized for the specific home, acting as a guide, educational tool, and organizer.

At Hilain Home Inspections Ltd. we always take the time to clearly demonstrate how our reporting system works and its many uses to the home owner. As an added feature we can provide, upon request, a digital photo record of the major deficiencies and safety concerns of the home being inspected

Darryl Johns

In 1988 I decided to pursue a career in carpentry and renovations. I would have never discovered this interest had it not been for the renovations my dad and I did to his second home. I think back now and can only laugh at some of the things we did. I spent the next seventeen years working on homes in Toronto’s most exclusive areas; harnessing skills and knowledge from some of the best carpenters and renovation companies in the city. In January 2004, I decided to start a home inspection business. After enduring many months of Building Code training and OAHI approved courses, my business was finally launched in February, 2005. Currently, I am an associate member of the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors and will be upgrading my designation to RHI (Registered Home Inspector) in 2008.

The thing I love most about being a Home Inspector is I still get to work directly with clients, offer tips and advice about houses, and use tools. Although inspecting homes is a full time commitment now, I still take on the odd small carpentry project. I guess I miss getting dirty, the smell of fresh sawdust, and the pride of workmanship.

My wife and I live in our third home in Ajax and are parents of two fun loving children. We love our home and community and look forward to many years there.
